"Hope" is the thing with feathers—

That perches in the soul—

And sings the tune without the words—

And never stops—at all—

And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—

And sore must be the storm—

That could abash the little Bird

That kept so many warm—

I've heard it in the chillest land—

And on the strangest Sea—

Yet, never, in Extremity,

It asked a crumb—of me.

Emily Dickinson

Be like the bird,

Who pausing a while

On boughs too slight

Feels them give way,

Yet sings,

Knowing he hath wings.

"Come to the edge," He said.

They said, 'We are afraid.

'Come to the edge', He said.

They came.

He gently pushed them . . .

And they flew."

  4. Merry Christmas Eve Mary...

There will be Christmas Carols playing in this house from morning till night. I love the way different carols bring back different memories of happy moments from past holiday seasons.

This morning I visited Learn Bird Songs from the link on DAD's blog and listened to the beautiful sound of the Northern Cardinal and imagined this red bird perched on a branch and then in flight. Then, I came to your blog and you give us 3 beautiful poems as beautiful as birds themselves.

    Have a wonderful day.
