Hi again from Tennessee,

I appreciate each of you who stopped by here yesterday! And thanks to Mandy, Jamaka, Joan, Maurine and Bill for your comments.

Now, I must tell you about how our grocery shopping went today. Just as Joan mentioned in her comment, with the coupons it took longer to shop. Dad and I decided to use the scooters to get around. You should have seen us chugging along. Dad kept warning me to be careful not to crash into one of those displays in the middle of the aisles. He said if I did he was going to act like he didn't know me! Ha.

I kept fumbling through my stack of coupons and they would slide out of my hand onto the floor! I soon realized I am going to have to organize them better and carry them in something that will be more accessible -- not in envelopes like I did today. It's kind of like the title of my Blog....we live and learn. (By the way, Dad and I made it safely with the scooters!)

There is a web site I love to go to - Info Please. Click on the link below to go to the page that gives us lots of information about each of our 50 states. Our Fifty States

God is in the Smallest Things

I see God in the smallest things,
The bee upon the flower,
This is a quiet way He shows
His mighty power.
For while we humans swat and swing,
To drive the bee away,
The little flower welcomes it,
And bids it stay.
Perhaps the flower and the bee,
Wish that they could help us see
The treasures in the smallest thing,
For then with joy our hearts would sing.

Bye for this time!
Mary

  2. Hi Cuz"
I am looking forward to reading your blog too! I love coupons. The way I keep them organized is in a coupon carrier which is a larger, plastic envelop divided by index cards into sections for paper products, cleaning supplies, beverages, etc. I found it at Dollar Tree and it really comes in handy. Love ya, Karen.

P.S. I would have loved to have seen you two zooming through the store on those scooters!

  3. Good Morning Mary...

Your trip to the grocery store turned into a very funny adventure that you'll long remember. I hope you saved a lot of money! My father-in-law loved clipping coupons and grocery shopping for sale items that when we went down to visit him he would send us into the basement to take whatever we needed from "his" grocery store. He kept building more shelves to hold all his savings.

I think you need a trip to "Dollar Tree" to get one of those coupon holders. It is my favorite dollar store so be prepared for another adventure if you go there.

So glad you added one of your most beautiful poems to today's blog.

  4. Haha! I like to think of you and Grandpa on your scooters! =)

Maybe you could try writing down on your grocery list which items you have a coupon for. Like, next to "Tomato Sauce" you could write "Hunts buy one get one free" or something like that. Then, you don't even have to do anything with the coupons until then end of your trip, when you hand them over to the cashier! Just an idea!

    Love ya!

  5. Dear Ms. Mary:

Beautiful poem about the bee! If we didn't have bees, we wouldn't have US because most of the crops are helped along by bees. Hopefully that'll boost their popularity!

Visited both sites you recommended -- you could get lost in there, learning so much!

Have a wonderful afternoon/evening -- love, Jamaka and fams
